Pottery Barn Deals

Hello girls, I hope you have all had a great week! I am so thankful that the weekend is here. Nothing planned (I am gonna give that filter wreath a try) this weekend!

Yesterday my daughter asked if we could go to the outlet malls since it was her day off. Of course she had to twist my arm...NOT!! I love going there and their just happens to be this wonderful place called THE POTTERY BARN OUTLET (Be still my heart)!! It really is so dreamy and with things marked down a little lower than the stores, you can find some bargains here, and I DID!

A little history first....I had been in a Goodwill about 1 month ago and found this beautiful curtain (just one) upon further inspection I found a tag that said Pottery Barn. WHAT?? No wonder it drew me in..I bought it for a steal $1.99 and took it home and put it in the closet. I was planning on making some pillows or cutting it down for smaller curtains because I love the fabric. Oh no the curtain fairies had bigger plans for it!!

Ok fast forward to yesterday..I was rummaging around in the odd and end bin (yes they have one if you look for it) and found a matching curtain!! I know..its crazy!! I wanted to jump and squeal with excitement but I did not. Can you believe not one other person was looking in this bin?? What is wrong with people?? Well yes I bought it and it matches perfectly with the other one!! Turns out its the Peyton Drape (fully lined). It however was $14.97 but for the two it cost me about $16.00. Not bad for some Pottery Barn curtains!

I then was looking through the furniture and sitting underneath another table was this little black beauty. I had been looking for a round coffee table and when I saw her and her price I was smitten! I called hubby and asked if I could have her for Christmas and he said sure if you want it get it! What sold me you asked...the price tag..It was marked for $350.00, marked down to $49.97!! WHAT!!!  The guy that came over to help me said it had some paint chipped off on the edge ( this is why I loved it) and so that was why it was marked down. SOLD!

It was a good day at the outlet!! Here are a couple of pics of my bargains for the day. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I'm going to work on my coffee filter wreath and let you know how it turns out!

Swoon!!

The bargain bin...yes I made that mess!!

They match!!

Sorry did not get a pic of the price tag..the check out guy took it from me and he would have thought I was a little weird if I had asked to take a pic of it..

Isn't she pretty??
Sorry for the long post..can you feel my excitement!!

A Book Wreath

Okay I have wanted to make one of these book wreaths for awhile now and this last weekend I finally did it! Yeah me!! I have seen these all over blog land and a friend of mine made one so I thought I would give it a try. I really like how it turned out and I'm not a big crafter but this really looked easy and pretty.

If you have made one of these and are thinking that was so yesterday then sorry but I'm a little slow getting started on this whole craft thing. I love to decorate but crafting is a little different for me..anywho..

So here we go:

You will need:
Glue or glue gun (I used Elmers)
Old book (I used an old hymnal i found thrifting for free)
Scissors
Glitter (I used some white I had)
Spray adhesive (I used a clear coat spray paint)
Round base or styrofoam ring (I used an old fall candle ring)
Total cost: FREE (I already had everything) I love using what I have!!

Supplies

A plastic ring. Wrap your book sheets and wrap ends around the ring and glue

Continue working your way around until you fill it up

Y
I did about 4 layers until it looked full. I sprayed with adhesive and sprinkled glitter on (I know it's hard to see)

Finished..ta dah!! I like how it turned out!
There are so many variations of this same project so just have fun and be creative!! Thanks Amy for the inspiration!! I will try the white one next..I'll let you know how that one turns out soon. Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Thanksgiving..A Change

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day with family and friends! I, like everyone else, probably ate too much. I am looking forward to the leftovers today..anybody with me?

My Thanksgiving this year took a little turn and at the last minute (literally the day before) I was going to be hosting in my home! My grandmother had to go into the hospital and my mom left to be with her. Honestly, we were worried that it wasn't going to turn out well, but God is good people! We started praying for her and her sudden surgery and she came through it great! The doctor released her the very next afternoon (i know) and she was able to be with her all children and some other family for Thanksgiving dinner this year. Praise you Lord!

I missed my momma being here and hosting and cooking but God wanted her to be with her mom this Thanksgiving! He always knows doesn't he, and continues to amaze me with his provision and his timing!

I am so thankful every day and every year for the many blessings that he bestows on my family but this year I am so ever thankful that my grandma got to be with her family this year.

Meanwhile back at the ranch (not really):

All the food turned out great and my inlaws joined US for a change this year. My brother in law and sister in law were not able to get here so we invited them for one big Thanksgiving..why not were doing "change" this year!! I love them so much and was so thankful to have them at our table giving thanks.

And lastly I am so thankful for you my friends and for all the blessings you bring to my life sometimes even in the midst of "change"!

Last minute set up for a Thanksgiving meal

My daughter with her fiance, my dad, my sis in law and niece

My hubby and me (yes I have the tree up already)

Thankful!!
I think I may go out this afternoon and brave this crazy shopping day..anybody with me??
