Merry Christmas To All

Stopping in to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a very blessed New Year!

It's been busy around here, as I know it has been with you also.
We have had birthdays, sickness, schooling and of course the Christmas preparation.
My kids are coming home Saturday and staying through Christmas night and I am looking forward to some family time!

From my home to yours..

Merry Christmas!

Keeping all those families in CT lifted in prayer. May the Lord comfort them with HIS peace this Christmas and throughout the days ahead. My heart aches...but MY GOD is still GOOD!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the comments and new followers this year. I look forward to 2013!

Christmas in the Kitchen

Hope you are having a beautiful week.
Are you still decking the halls and making your home warm and welcoming for Christmas?
I have done about as much as I am gonna do this year.
I added some touches in the kitchen and always enjoy creating a small cocoa/coffee station bar for my family. I don't have a large kitchen, more of a galley style, so it limits my use of space.
Here is a look at my cute little station and a few more pics of my Christmas in the Kitchen.

Paper straws from Kirklands
I got a large box of these around the Fourth of July and have used them on many occasions

I know the jar says "cookies". Its actually an old candy jar
I found it at an estate sale and added the label and it usually resides in the pantry but it fit just perfect in that metal holder and I love the pop of red. It holds our coffee pods

Apothecary jar filled with Twizzlers and a plate found at Target several years ago

Wreath was a Pottery Barn clearance item two years ago
I made the chalkboard using a thrift store frame

Topiary tree was found at Goodwill years ago
TJ Maxx frame with our Christmas picture this year.

Do you have a cocoa station? I would love to see it if you do. Leave me a comment and I will check it out.
Have a blessed day!

Christmas at Home

Sorry it has taken me so long to post, I was having problems with my Picassa Albums. It seems as if I have to now pay for more space if I want pictures on my blog..ugh.. yes please. Got it taken care of and I now have plenty of space. Moving on...

I am now in full mode for Christmas decorating. We left town the day after Thanksgiving and didn't return till Sunday so I didn't get my tree up till Monday. I have been digging through my boxes and decided their were some things I didn't really care to use anymore. Trying to decorate with things I use everyday and add a little color with vintage ornaments and greenery.

Vintage ornaments I have been collecting look so pretty in a glass cloche

I found this metal basket at a small shop for $5 dollars.
Its a good size for small presents under the tree

A vintage book on Twas the Night Before Christmas and some cranberries in a small cloche keep it simple

This bookshelf was a gift to myself after finishing a large job I had worked on for a week
(World Market)

Small touches of Christmas

The Tree

Do you have your tree finished yet? Have you got your shopping done?
I love this season, don't you?  I also know that the best gift I ever received is the love and grace of my Savior Jesus Christ. That gift can't be found under a tree but it changed my life forever.

Hope your having a great weekend!
I will be back to share my cocoa station with you. These are so fun!

Creating a Home

Hello my friends!
The weeks pass so quickly don't they? Cannot believe next week is Thanksgiving already..are you ready? I am looking forward to slowing down a bit and spending some time with my family. I am hosting this year and going out of town so it should be a fast and furious holiday.
Ready or not here they come!

Have I mentioned before, that on occasion I get to decorate homes for some pretty great people. No, I am not a professional but I have a love and desire to make things more beautiful so as the Lord provides me with new clients I get the chance to transform some pretty great spaces from a house to a home. This is a work in progress because its a new home and I am doing every room from scratch.

Ready to see some pics?
(No befores, sorry)

Entry way

Office

Living Room

Hall Bath

Baby Room

Isn't this room adorable?! My favorite!
I have more of this beautiful home and still have many rooms to work on after Thanksgiving. I love my job!

I hope your Thanksgiving is blessed with many wonderful memories and many things to be thankful for.
 Many blessings my friends.

Barn Sale Pics

Hey friends!
Sorry I have been slow to post these days. I have been resting and recouping after the sale and my creative juju just seems to be at a stand still for now.
Maybe its the fact that I am tired and have a few new things on my plate or the anticipation of getting things ready for the holidays coming up. Either way its been nice to just relax for a week.

The Barn Sale of 2012 was a huge success and I heard about 2000 people made their way through the doors last weekend. It was great to see so many old faces and even greater to meet new ones. I enjoy this show every year and look forward to another great show in 2013!

Here are a few pics of my space..
(I apologize for not getting other peoples spaces photographed. I'm never sure how others feel about that so I tend to play it safe..I should have asked.)

A special thanks to everyone who came by to see me, follows my blog and made a purchase. You all truly blessed me!
To God be the Glory!

Have a beautiful weekend!

Christmas Sewing Box

Hey friends!

I should be in bed right now, the first day of the Barn Sale starts tomorrow and I am so looking forward to visiting with friends and meeting fellow bloggers. It's my favorite part of the show!

I wanted to share something I made that I am taking with me.  I picked up these old sewing machine boxes at a yard sale and sold a few "as is" but with these three I wanted to create something pretty for Christmas. Yes, I said Christmas!

I started with the sewing box..duh..added some floral styrofoam and just starting sticking in Christmas picks.

I didn't take pictures of every step (sorry) but this is where you can get creative.

Most of my picks were found at Hobby Lobby. Some of the ornaments are from Target clearance last year.

I am looking forward to visiting with many old friends and meeting new ones.
Off to bed now! Its gonna be a busy day..

Have a beautiful weekend!
