A New Space

Hello all...yay for Fridays!
I have been a busy bee this week running here and there and trying to work on several projects at once. One project I am super excited about is my new space at a local shop. Its a little larger than my last space and I have had so much fun giving it a cute new look. I wanted it to have the look and feel of a french market and I am happy with the results.

Here's a peak..

I am waiting for an order of smalls to fill the shelves up.
If you are local stop in August 1st for the store opening. I would love to say Hi!
Thanks for stopping in today!

Before/After..an Old Box

Happy Thursday my friends!!
The weekend is close at hand..any projects your planning??

I have been busy preparing things for my new booth space at the new shop.
When I found this old box laying in the grass at a friends house I knew it deserved to have some new life breathed into it. Its very sturdy, great height for a coffee table or end table and even has some storage.

That front flap folds down and would make a great place for games, blankets or toys in a living room or books as a nightstand.

I found a small sample pot of a light gray at HD and diluted it with some water to give it more of a white wash effect. Sanded and added some stain to make it look a little more worn.  Thats it!

Love how it turned out! Just like everything else I paint I would love to keep it but its going to shop For Sale. Hoping it gets a great new home.
I can't wait to show you some pics of my new space. Much more work to do and waiting for some things to arrive but its all going to be worth it in the end.

Thanks for stopping in today and I hope your weekend is full of blessings!

Menu Chalkboard

Happy Friday!

Do you ever see something and think "I know exactly what I am going to do with that." Yes, of course you do, I knew I was in good company. When I saw this old door I knew immediately it was going to make a great menu chalkboard. Do you see the potential??

Simple lines, old wood in great shape just waiting to be painted and brought back to life
I don't have any during pics but I'm sure you get the idea..trusty Heirloom white and a little chalkboard paint and voila!!

I need to find something to cover the holes at the top but I love how it turned out! I need to take it to the shop and let it find a new home but I am really liking how it looks in my dining room. Do you want to keep everything you make or is it just me??

Have a great weekend my friends!
Off to do some treasure hunting today...hope to share so finds next week!

A Display Cabinet

Gosh, is it ever sooo hot! I know that most of you are feeling the heat too. It makes it almost impossible to get outside and do any painting but I am trying late in the day. Once I get started I try to do as much as I can at once.

I friend of mine had this green cabinet they were looking to get rid of and I knew instantly that I wanted to use it as a display in my space at the shop. The owner is moving it to a new location and I am excited about bringing in new things and styling it. Isn't that the funnest part?!

I liked the green color but the many years of wear and pen marks had taken its toll and it needed a fresh coat of paint. I settled on the trusty "Heirloom White" because its fast and again its 100 degrees outside. I need fast girls!! I also wanted to do something fun on the inside and when I found this cute contact paper at the Dollar Store I thought it was worth a try.

I used about three rolls for this project. There was a lot of waste but for only $3 no biggie.

Yes, I think I like it!

It never ceases to amaze me what a coat of paint can do for a piece of furniture.

Thank you to all my new followers and my long time followers. I'm glad you stop in every week and always appreciate your kind comments.

Have a beautiful week!

Pretty Washing

Two posts in one week...I know, CRAZY!

Let me see a show of hands, who likes to do laundry??
No?? Well we know it has to be done, but wouldn't it be a little more fun in a pretty laundry room?
I had no plans of giving my little laundry room a makeover until I started moving furniture around in the living room. You know how that goes..you start by moving one piece then before you know it each room  has gotten a little change. Don't get me wrong, this room needed a little change, just wasn't at the top of the priority list. Well I am so glad I did it! Sure makes doing laundry a little more enjoyable. I love a good before and after..you?

Before..

Boring right??  The bulletin board now hangs behind the door.

After...

I added a shelf above the washer/dryer and added some fabric to cover the ugly plug and drain hose.
The chalkboard was made using a frame I found, adding a piece of MDF board and painting with chalkboard paint. Everything else I already had on hand.

This project only cost me $3 for the shelf brackets. YAY!!

Is your laundry room boring? Hope this inspires you to make your washing a little prettier!

Happy Washing my friends!

Hello all my sweet followers. Sorry the posts have been few these last few months. Summer has a way of doing that to me and you too I'm sure. Warning..this post will be pic heavy, I went a little crazy taking pics around the house :)

If your still with me your a trooper. Thanks for stopping by today. Hoping to get some projects done around here soon, hope you'll come back. Have a beautiful day!!
