Barn Sale Christmas

Hey friends!
I know we just got into the fall season and decorating in everything orange and I have to go and bring up Christmas. Please don't think I'm crazy. I am preparing for the annual Barn Sale in Gonzalez Tx on November 2 and 3. If you are local I sure hope you can make it.

Here is a sampling of some of the things I have made that I will be taking with me.
These heart ornaments were made from an old sack I found at an estate sale. I added lace, ribbon and vintage jewelry and stamped each one with some of my favorite words.

These stockings were also made from the same sack material. I added lace, burlap rosettes and a few pearls to embellish them. Love that the material is not perfect and has many imperfections.

These ornaments are a little brighter. I added some German glass glitter, a ribbon and a bell to each one.

Planning ahead is a must when I'm getting ready for this show. Last year I sold out of almost everything and pray I have another great year. I hope you are all enjoying your fall days and the change of weather. It won't be long and the Christmas season will be upon us.

Have a beautiful Monday!

More Finds and a Thank You

Good morning!
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I enjoyed spending mine with some wonderful friends and relaxing on Sunday while the rain came down. I love those kind of days!

I wanted to share a few more finds I picked up while visiting my sister.

This chippy white stool was a great deal and will be going to the Barn Sale in November.
An old architectural piece and mailbox will be staying with me (I think).

I love old buckets or anything galvanized so when I spotted this with the lettering I had to have it!
This old iron table was on my porch but replaced by something else so it too will be heading to the sale.

This white chippy cart and old desk...yep their headed to a new home.
See that pan?? I saw a cute idea and will share what I did with it in another post. Can you guess?

A couple of chick feeders (top) will be turned into a Christmas decoration and of course a few old windows are always a favorite.
Lots of goodies...lots of work to do!
The Warrenton/Round Top weekend is coming up and I hope to make a trip with a friend of mine this year.

I want to say thank you to Lindsey from The Farmhouse Porch for a wonderful giveaway!
She was giving away a painting to the person who could name her painting. My name was picked and I WON!

"A Vintage Rose"

Thanks for a generous giveaway and a piece of your art Lindsey! If you haven't visited her blog yet go by and leave her a comment and tell her I sent ya!

Have a beautiful day!

Fall and Finds

Hello my friends!
Hope your enjoying your cooler days and evenings. Fall is certainly in the air.

I have been busy working on several projects for an upcoming Barn Sale that I will be participating in. If you would like any info and your in the Texas area please check out my side bar.
I have also had a little time to decorate for the fall. I promised I would show you a few things I picked up while in Canton with my sis in law so I thought I would show you how I used them in my fall decor.

The wood tool caddy was found in my sis in laws barn and she gave it to me!
I can see many uses for this in the future!

Greenery and white pumpkins were found at LaurieAnnas.

This is by far my favorite thing I brought back!! An old meat market scale.
This was in my sisters attic when they moved in..I know its crazy what people will leave behind!
She had it sitting in her garage and said it was too big for her table and asked if I wanted to bring it home..ugh YES!!
Thank you sis, I love you!

Just a few fall pics...

Mercury glass from PB outlet for $4.99
PB pine cones found at GW for $1.99

That tin was also found at LaurieAnnas and hangs from a goodwill lamp I found. I just removed the glass and added candles.

I love fall, its my favorite time of year!
Have you started decorating for fall yet? Is it cool where you live? I'm so jealous!

Have a blessed week!
Thank you so much to all my new friends for leaving a comment. I read everyone and it makes my day!

A Simple White Guest Room

Happy Friday!!
I wish we had four day weeks every week don't you??
I so enjoyed that extra day.

In my last post I eluded to the fact that I did a little guest room makeover when I visited my sis in law last weekend. I have been working on her home in pieces every time I visit and we are close to finishing up. It has been so much fun to shop and decorate her new home and I am humbled that she lets me do it.

I do not have any before pics of this room but just imagine bare walls and nothing in it....a blank canvas! Just the way I like it.

After...

This chippy table was found in Georgia when they lived in Tennessee.
Tool caddy and old window was in her barn, we just cleaned them up and brought them in.
All the small pieces she had in a closet just waiting to be used.

Chest was found locally for $15 and the mirror we found at a small shop for $5!
Horse was found at LaurieAnnas.

Dug the box out of a closet and added accessories (also from LaurieAnnas)

The bed and bedding was all found at IKEA.
     Horse pics were also hers.
They live on twenty acres and her hubby ropes so I tried to mix a little bit feminine with a little bit rustic. I think they marry well don't you??

Have a wonderful weekend my friends!

A Quick Getaway (Canton)

Happy Labor Day!
I hope you are enjoying your day off with family and friends or getting some things done around your home.

Last Thursday I took a quick trip to see my sis in law close to Canton. It was very short notice, my husband was home, nothing on the calendar and the stars aligned so I through caution to the wind, jumped in the car and hit the road...alone! I was looking forward to some girl time with my sis. Yes, it was Canton weekend but we decided to hit some antique stores, garage sales and an occasional roadside taco stand for some of the best street tacos I have ever tasted!! I know, we live on the wild side..

One shop I can never pass up while in Canton is a trip to LaurieAnnas.  Have you been there?? This place truly takes my breath away! It is one of the most beautiful shops I have ever seen. Laurie and her staff always make us feel like family. Well, that might have something to do with the fact that we spent 3 hours there but seriously, some of the sweetest people ever! If you haven't been or been lately, they have now expanded their shop by another 4,000 sq ft. OH MY GOODNESS!!

Take a look..

Sigh....Truly stunning!!
I did purchase a few things from her shop and several chippy vintage goodies I will share in another post.
I also did a makeover in her guestroom while I was there and will share that also.

Have a wonderful day my friends.
