Vintage Linen Pillows

I hope that you are all having a wonderful weekend!!
I had a great time last night going to have dinner and seeing a movie with a couple of my girlfriends. Don't you just love girl time, laughing and talking and sharing stories. It makes my heart happy!

I enjoyed a quiet morning at home which doesn't happen often and wanted to get a project done. Hmm what to do??

On a recent trip to goodwill I had picked up a package of vintage linen napkins. Some had a small monogram and others were plain. They were a steal at 99 cents for about 20. I tell ya, I can't believe what people get rid of!
I must have this thing for napkins because I have a stack of different ones in a drawer in my kitchen. What to do with all of them??
How about make some pillows?
I have several old pillows in the closet (told you I have a thing for pillows) and I decided to use the forms and just make new covers for them. I had also grabbed four napkins on a recent trip to PB outlet (1.25 ea) and thought they would look great on my bed with my new euro pillows.
Pulled out the sewing machine and went to town. Granted I am not the best seamstress but I am happy with how they turned out!

Linen and PB napkins found for a steal

pillow form

I put a 2 inch hem around the pillow to make a border

White linen napkins..now a pillow!

This pillow I wanted a border so I sewed inside the white area

This pillow I sewed without the border and left a little linen showing

Happy!!
Do you have any old linens or napkins you can turn into pillows? For $6.00 I have 3 new pillows and several more to make!! Happy sewing...or fusing..whatever works for you!
Love you girls!

  1. You're good, Tiff. Real good. ♥ I got some great deals today at Kirklands. Huge frames for $4 each. A little scratch and dent sale going on. I can deal with it! I'm checking with IKEA tomorrow on the beds and will let you know ASAP. I'm ready to put you to work on several areas in my house! Start thinking Italian outdoor cafes, window boxes, ivy, geraniums, reds, a little blue, and TEXTURE. I'll fill you in on the rest when we get together!
    I'll call.

  3. Great idea! These look beautiful with your "Nest" Pillow! I have a lot of vintage white napkins that my grandma gave me. I think this would be a great way to repurpose them.

    Thanks for sharing!

  9. Love your pillows! So creative out of napkins. I make them out of vintage linens. I posted two of them yesterday. They are just so much fun to make. No two are ever alike:) I am your newest follower and will be back to say hello:)

These are soo cute! I love pillows, but these days you can't seem to find any that are inexpensive. I know I'm out-dated. But ♥♥♥ these!
